Patient N.K.

What were your symptoms prior to having surgery?
Prior to seeing Dr. Mir, i was in a weak condition with not much hope left. Having been hospitalized for months and going through surgery after surgery had left me slowly dying. Bellevue hospital sent me to Harlem Hospital where surgery after surgery took place leaving me with unbearable pain , open wounds and scars from the needle marks. Than i transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital where not even one physician was able to help me. The silicone inside my body started spreading and slowly become hard as a rock and changed into black and blue marks all down my lower back and butt. I would be in so much pain that I had to take pain medication daily. i spent months in bed because i was to weak to even walk, something as simple getting out of bed became so painful that i would collapse. i slowly started loosing feeling in my legs and couldn’t walk. My next 6 months were spent in emergency rooms getting blood transfusions and medication after medication, till i was finally told that there was nothing that can be done and accept the fact i was slowly dying. As a last resort Mount Sinai put me on Chemo medication which caused hair lose and high blood pressure resulting in migraines and painful headache. But, that too didn’t work and was told once again sorry we did our best but there isn’t anything else to try. After all the surgeries of being cut up and having track marks on my arms and neck from the needles, i had become 82 pounds and slowly vanishing. I searched for a million doctors till i found Dr.Mir.

How was your surgical experience with Dr. Mir and his staff?
From day one Dr.Mir and his staff welcomed me with compassion and understanding. His staff comforted me when i had questions and concerns. Dr.Mir gave me hope and throughout my surgeries by informing me step by step of the procedures and giving hope all the way. Dr.Mir has so much compassion and empathy for his patients ;that it gave me hope to fight through my surgeries. Dr.Mir is a physician that “Truly Loves his Job”, he showed that through always being a phone call away when i was in pain or had any concerns with my healing. I went to Dr.Mir when i couldn’t barely walk and ended up needing a stent put in because of a blood clot, he reached out to other doctors till he found me another great doctor. Dr.Mir became my everything Doctor because of the time he invested in me becoming better not just from his surgeries but from any other complications i had. Not many Doctors these days would do that but Dr. Mir is one in a Billion and i will always be grateful for him helping me get well and saving my life.

How long has it been since you’ve had surgery?
Almost 4 years since my first surgery, after the first two surgeries i started feeling better. These days you wouldn’t ever know i had all those surgeries because i have healed so well. Dr. Mir pushed me to get better since the first surgery i had and i slowly returned to my normal self. almost 4 years i am back to my usual self as if it all was a dream. Dr.Mir puts his undivided time in his patients till he knows you are 100% percent better.

How are your symptoms now that you’ve had surgery?
I am currently very healthy and full of energy. I also, have a couple of very small scars which have slowly healed. Dr.Mir took his time to leave as little scars as possible, working miracles on me. Before meeting Dr.Mir i was slowly dying and after being treated by Dr.Mir i am alive and full of life. Angels do exist and one is called Dr.Mir, he will forever be mine.

1) What were your symptoms prior to having surgery?
Prior to having the silicone removal surgery, I had experiences with burning and itching sensation, I was constantly fatigue. If I sat for a long period of time, my legs and butt would go numb. But, the most challenging symptom I experienced was/is inflammation under my skin. This would cause me to break out in what appeared to look like reddish hives all over the injected area of my butt. The only way to manage the break outs was by taking oral steroids called prednisone. After taking 5-10mg of Prednisone per day for a year and the break outs kept coming back, I decided to seek removal options.

2) How was your surgical experience with Dr. Mir and his staff?
My experience with Dr. Mir was amazing! He is not only very knowledgeable when it comes to this type of procedure, but he is also kind and caring. He truly made me feel like he had my best interest at heart. His nursing staff was also great, they tended to my every need and made me feel like I was in good hands.

3) How long has it been since you’ve had surgery?
I had my silicone removal surgery on July 18 th , 2016, I am currently 8 months post op.

4) How are your symptoms now that you’ve had surgery?
Since my removal surgery, all symptom have subside with the exception of my break outs, prior to having the removal surgery Dr. Mir informed me that there were no guarantees the break outs would completely go away as this is now an auto immune disease and it will be up to my body to fight it off once the silicone has been removed. As of today, 8 months post op. I am still experiencing minor break outs here and there. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the strongest. Before the surgery my break outs were at about an 8, after the surgery my break outs are at about a 4 which is tolerable considering where I came from.

What were your symptoms prior to having surgery?

My symptoms prior the removal surgery were ulcerative colitis, which is an autoimmune disease where your colon is inflamed producing rectal bleeding, diarrhea, and urgency. In addition to this, I also had pain in my buttocks like if it was burning. I had lower back pain everyday, and I also had lots of discoloration in both sides of my buttocks.

How was your surgical experience with Dr. Mir and his staff?
Dr. Mir was a sweetheart since day one. The staff has been amazing as well; they were always willing to help me.

How are your symptoms now that you’ve had surgery?
Immediately after my surgery the ulcerative colitis went away. I don’t have back pain anymore, nor burning in my buttocks. To top it all off even the discoloration is going away, slowly but surely. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Dr Mir. He saved my life as this poison was killing me little by little; and no, no one is paying me for this review, I would never give a false testimony when it comes to something as serious as someone’s life.

Patient J.T.

What were your symptoms prior to having surgery?
My symptoms prior to surgery included a red/purple discoloration of my butt as well as a hot to the touch feeling especially after sitting. My butt also felt like I was carrying a lot of pressure and weight with me, not in a good way. If someone touched my butt more than a light touch it would bring tears to my eyes it was that painful. I would also get this rug burn tingling feeling that would lead me to scratching it to make the burning feeling go away. I did not feel these symptoms immediately after getting the injections; I felt them a few years later as if my body was starting to reject this foreign material.

How was your surgical experience with Dr. Mir and his staff?

Patient K.P.

Prior to having surgery I had constant fevers, pain, and my blood count was extremely low. In the course of 1 year I was hospitalized 4 times and had 3 blood transfusions.

Dr. Mir and his staff have been amazing since the day I met them.  He really takes the time to explain the process of the procedure you’ll be under going while keeping you informed of a realistic result.  I never expected to be 100%  physically normal again but at least I was healthy.

It’s now been almost 3 years since my removal, and I Year since my last reconstruction.  I can honestly say if it weren’t for Dr. Mir I don’t know if I would still be alive.  At this point in time I feel great and fully healthy again. I do have a few physical imperfections but I knew going in that it was all about me feeling healthy again.

Dr. Mir gave me my life back and I’m fully grateful and appreciative for all he has done for me.

What were your symptoms prior to having surgery?
I had a lot of symptoms before surgery, a lot of burning sensation at all times, a lot of itchiness I could have scratched forever that’s how bad it really was. I also had extreme inflammation; my skin would be so red. Sometimes it would be tender to the touch. I had so much I would feel the movement of it towards my spine. I couldn’t sit for long periods of time.

How was your surgical experience with Dr. Mir and his staff?
What can I say Dr. Mir is the best! I honestly feel that he helped me as much as he could. I would be forever grateful to him. His staff is also awesome; they try to help you as much as they can. That’s how I felt every single time I went for a follow up.

How long has it been since you’ve had surgery?
It’s been a year and a half since I had the surgery.

How are your symptoms now that you’ve had surgery?
I be honest it has gotten way better. I still feel my skin inflamed but not as much as before. The itchiness did stop about 90% I would say. I do get these burning sensations that I feel like a torch is right beneath my skin, sometimes I get that pain stronger than other times. The discoloration is probably the worse, because it keeps spreading down my legs. I am well aware that Dr. Mir couldn’t remove completely the product that was injected to my body. He explained that to me very clearly. Regardless of what it is now, its 100% better than what it was before I had the surgery. I’m forever grateful!
